The Uncle Nearest team is an extraordinary one. We all count it a great honor to uphold our founders’ first guiding principle for this company, “To raise up one legend without harming the legacy of another.” If you have a passion for sharing the story of Nearest Green and joining us to help build a brand that outlives this generation, feel free to complete the contact form below and upload your resume.
Prior to submitting your resume, however, please review our guiding principles. Every Uncle Nearest team member keeps the following as our company’s north star, and that is an expectation our founders have of every person who joins this remarkable group of individuals.
OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
WE DO IT WITH EXCELLENCE OR WE DON’T DO IT AT ALL
If the end result will be “okay,” we look for a better option, and pivot quickly, as to not waste precious time.
EVERY DAY, WE POUND THE ROCK
At times it may seem as though what we are doing isn’t working. It’s then we must consider a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without so much as a crack. Then at the hundred and first blow, it will split in two, and we will all celebrate not just the blow that did it, but all that had gone before.
WE ACCEPT EACH OTHER’S DIFFERENCES
Following the leadership of Nearest and his star pupil, we look for our common bonds no matter what in the world might otherwise divide. We are not just shaping a company; we are building a company that has the power to help shape how people are viewed and treated in the world.
ALL TEAM MEMBER OPINIONS ARE WELCOME
All team member opinions are needed, welcome and treated as equal. We share our thoughts to create better and more complete ideas. No matter what the experts says, every idea is not a good idea…but share it anyway. What began as a subpar idea can become great with feedback from our community.
WE ARE CREATING A CULTURE OF RADICAL CANDOR
In order to be successful, we have to be independent thinkers — so independent that when passionate about something, we’re willing to bet against the consensus. In order to accomplish that, we have to put our honest thoughts on the table, be radically open-minded, allowing the best ideas to rise to the top.
WE ARE BUILDING A BRAND TO OUTLIVE US
In an age of create, flip, repeat – we are creating a company and brand to carry a legacy for many lifetimes to come. This means we are strategic in creating sustainability – from our brand to our company to the environment. We pursue holistic approaches to every aspect of our business, reducing waste and determining daily to be the kind of neighbor we’d want just over the fence.
THE MORE WE KNOW, THE MORE WE HAVE YET TO LEARN
Complacency is the greatest foe of greatness. We encourage one another to continue learning, in all areas, carrying forth no judgement. We set ourselves apart in the adult beverage industry by embracing what we still do not know and rooting for one another to keep discovering more.
WE DO ALL THINGS BEST, WHEN WE DO THEM WITH HONOR
Our company’s founders began this company with one guiding principle, “We will raise up one legend without harming the legacy of another.” That remains true to this day. But our company not only honors two men for their unlikely friendship and legacies of excellence, we honor one another knowing what we are doing, has never been done before, and may never be done again. Respect and honor, not competition, is what shapes us.
WE SPEAK LIFE, WE SPEAK LIGHT
Positive words and actions manifest the same. We speak well of our team members, as well as our competition, and always treat both with respect.
EVEN IN BUSINESS, FAMILY COMES FIRST…AND REST IS EXTOLLED
Healthy family life leads to a more productive work life. We are our best selves when we take time each week to spend time with family, as well as to pause and reflect on what great things happened the preceding week. When we do this with intention, our minds obtain the rejuvenation they need and the best ideas begin to flow. We rest because we care about our health, our families, our communities and this company.
